Derek P. Allen serves as President of RIA Holdings, LLC. and is deeply committed to delivering insurance as a partnership, not a transaction. His approach is grounded in integrity, honesty, and transparency, with a clear focus on putting clients’ needs first and building long-term relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

Derek believes effective insurance solutions begin with a thorough understanding of each client’s business, risk profile, and long-term objectives. Rather than focusing on volume, he prioritizes thoughtful strategy, disciplined execution, and consistent accountability—serving as an extension of his clients’ executive and risk-management teams.

Derek is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where he earned a degree in Finance, Economics, and Management. While attending EMU as a full-time student, he worked at TCF Bank, beginning as a teller and advancing to Branch Manager. Following graduation, he accepted a promotion to TCF Bank’s home office, serving as a Loss Mitigator in the Corporate Lending Department, where he gained valuable experience in financial analysis, credit risk, and portfolio oversight.

His commercial Property & Casualty career began in 2014, where he quickly developed specialized expertise across a wide range of industries, including mobile home communities, apartment complexes, hotels, portfolio management groups, trucking and transportation, international logistics, manufacturing, and high-value habitational properties. Derek is proficient in both standard admitted market placement and non-admitted brokered shared and layered programs, including complex high-value property portfolios.
